Quilting Lesson for Two - 90 Minutes

Piece something together. Share a quilting lesson with a friend or family member. Melanie will help you explore the process, practice useful techniques, and move your projects forward with guidance for both learners.

$40 per student · $80 total for two · 90 minutes · At your home

One purchase covers both students attending the same lesson.

What you can work on

• Understand a quilting pattern and plan your next steps.
• Practice measuring, cutting, piecing, and pressing.
• Build confidence joining fabric pieces into quilt blocks.
• Get guidance on your current project, from preparing the layers to quilting and binding.

Your lesson will focus on skills suited to your experience and project. A quilt usually takes several sessions and practice between lessons; you do not need to finish a whole quilt in one class.

Your machine and materials

If you own a sewing machine, use your own so you can learn its features and feel comfortable practicing between lessons. If you need a machine, let Melanie know in advance so arrangements can be confirmed.

Materials for small projects are included in your first two lessons. After that, provide your own materials or pay a small fee for materials supplied by Melanie. Discuss your quilting project and supply needs before your lesson; small-project materials do not mean a complete quilt kit is included.

Lessons at your home

Lessons currently take place in students’ homes. Melanie is based in Lakewood, Colorado. Share your city, students’ ages, and sewing experience so she can confirm travel availability and plan an appropriate lesson.

Rescheduling your lesson

Contact Melanie before your scheduled lesson if you need to change the time.

• 48 hours or more notice: No charge to reschedule.
• More than 24 hours but less than 48 hours notice: $5 rescheduling fee.
• 24 hours or less notice: $15 rescheduling fee.
