Introductory Sewing Lesson for Two - 90 Minutes

Try something creative together. Share your first sewing lesson with a friend or family member. Melanie will guide you through the basics, help you get comfortable with your machines, and make room for both students’ questions.

$35 per student · $70 total for two · 90 minutes

One purchase covers both students attending the same lesson. Both students must be new; the introductory offer is available once per student. Ongoing lessons for two are $40 each ($80 total).

Start sewing side by side

• Learn basic machine use and safe sewing habits.
• Practice stitches and seams with personal guidance.
• Explore a small beginner project and encourage each other as you learn.

Your machine and materials

Have a sewing machine? Use your own so you can learn its features and feel more confident practicing between lessons. If you need a machine, Melanie can provide one; please let her know in advance so arrangements can be confirmed.

Materials for small projects are included in your first two lessons. After that, bring your own materials or pay a small fee to cover the cost of materials Melanie supplies.

Lessons at your home

Melanie currently teaches in students’ homes and is based in Lakewood, Colorado. Lessons are available for kids, teens, and adults, with projects chosen to suit students’ ages, experience, and interests. Some projects take more than one lesson; listing photos show project inspiration.

In-home lessons are available within approximately a 30-minute drive of the Green Mountain area of Lakewood, Colorado. Travel time depends on traffic and the lesson time; Melanie will confirm your location when scheduling.

Rescheduling your lesson

Need to change your lesson time? Please contact Melanie before your scheduled lesson. Rescheduling fees depend on how much notice you give:

• 48 hours or more: No charge to reschedule.
• More than 24 hours but less than 48 hours: $5 rescheduling fee.
• 24 hours or less: $15 rescheduling fee.

Purchase now, schedule together

Purchase your lesson online, then contact Melanie with your order number to arrange a suitable date and time. Share your lesson address, students’ ages and experience, preferred days or times, project interests, and whether you need a sewing machine. Your purchase covers one 90-minute lesson for the number of students selected; it does not reserve a specific appointment.

Have a particular date in mind, or are you unsure whether your address is within the service area? Please contact Melanie before purchasing.

If we cannot arrange your lesson

If you and Melanie cannot agree on a suitable lesson time or location, you will receive a full refund for that lesson. Once a lesson is scheduled, the rescheduling terms above apply to requests to change it.
