Introductory Private Sewing Lesson - 90 Minutes

Your first stitches start here. If you’ve been wanting to sew but aren’t sure where to begin, this private lesson gives you a friendly place to start. Learn with Melanie at your own pace, with time to ask questions and get comfortable using a sewing machine.

$50 total · One student · 90 minutes

New students only. One introductory offer per student. Ongoing private lessons are $65 for 90 minutes.

A comfortable first step

• Get to know your machine and practice safe sewing habits.
• Build confidence with basic stitches, fabric handling, and seams.
• Begin a small project suited to your experience, with guidance along the way.

Your machine and materials

Have a sewing machine? Use your own so you can learn its features and feel more confident practicing between lessons. If you need a machine, Melanie can provide one; please let her know in advance so arrangements can be confirmed.

Materials for small projects are included in your first two lessons. After that, bring your own materials or pay a small fee to cover the cost of materials Melanie supplies.

Lessons at your home

Melanie currently teaches in students’ homes and is based in Lakewood, Colorado. Lessons are available for kids, teens, and adults, with projects chosen to suit students’ ages, experience, and interests. Some projects take more than one lesson; listing photos show project inspiration.
